About Me
Robert Gillespie, MD, MPH
I earned my Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, and a Master of Public Health degree at the University of Washington. I now practice pediatric nephrology in Fort Worth, Texas and surrounding areas.
I have published many articles in scientific and popular publications, including Trains, Classic Trains, Michigan History, eMedicine.com, Pediatrics in Review and Pediatric Nephrology. I serve on the faculty of the Texas Christian University Burnett School of Medicine and the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of North Texas. I have been interviewed by KIII-TV (ABC), KZTV (CBS) and KORO (Univision) in south Texas. I have also served as a consultant to the Food and Drug Administration, and as a reviewer for scientific journals, including Pediatric Nephrology, Pediatrics and Nature Clinical Practice: Nephrology.
RailwaySurgery.org went online in 2006. This site is my passion project and a labor of love to honor the legacy of the dedicated railway surgeons and military hospital train staff. If you want to talk about railway medicine or would like for me to speak to your group, drop me a line!
